About me

My name is Jane and I offer one to one counselling and therapy services either face to face or online.

My approach is to sit alongside you, to look at the issues you choose to bring to each session and together, to find a way of working through them.

My role is to create a kind and compassionate space where you feel accepted, without judgement and safe - to share whatever you choose to.

My approach has been described as "roll our sleeves up together therapy", a true partnership and collaboration.

Everyone is unique so it's important we find the way that works best for you. I use a range of approaches - some people like to talk, others find a more creative approach helps, and some find working outdoors with nature suits them best. We can use any or all of the above or create something new!

Our sessions will be fully collaborative with regular reviews to check in with you, so we can fine tune the way we are working together.

We all have one short and precious life and if I can help you, as you live yours, I invite you to get in touch to book your free 20 minute consultation.

Working together you will find a way to move forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

I bring a depth of experience working with people at the centre; gained by working in further education colleges and within the criminal justice sector, in prisons.

Having qualified as a counsellor with a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, I want to help adults and young people who may be experiencing all sorts of issues and challenges.

I have a variety of tools and techniques we can use together in our sessions to best suit what you choose to share and the way you work.

I can work with you where you are at and have experience in the following with adults and young people:

  • suicidal thoughts and self-harm
  • grief, bereavement and loss
  • working alongside those with life limiting diagnosis
  • young people with issues around school
  • relationship issues
  • anxiety, fears and worries
  • emotional issues
  • finding yourself …..who am I?
  • menopause and its impact on you

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
