About me

I am a BACP Registered counsellor, who works an integrative manner which means I can adapt how I work to meet your needs. That may be Person Centered Therapy Psychodynamic Therapy or CBT.

I offer face to face counselling sessions, however I also offer  telephone and Video conference counselling, if this is your preference.

I provide both short and long term counselling and believe that the therapeutic relationship between the counsellor and the client is of upmost importance. The therapeutic relationship is based on trust and confidentiality and I aim to provide a safe and warm environment in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.

I have experience of working with a variety of issues including bereavement and loss, anxiety and depression, relationship issues, low self esteem/confidence and stress related issues. I have worked with a wide range of client ages from young adults to adults of all ages.

I understand that there are times in our lives when we have emotional difficulties that we are unsure how to overcome. Sometimes it can help to talk to a counsellor about your concerns, to help you explore more challenging thoughts or feelings you may have and to have support to find your own way forward that provides the best possible outcome for you.

I believe that with the right support that all individuals have the potential to make, what they believe to be, beneficial changes to their lives and that everyone has the potential to build better relationships with both themselves and others around them.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
