About me
I am a Psychotherapist that works with an array of techniques and methods to navigate suffering and uncertainty and will work with you to move towards transformational change.
It is often the first steps on the journey of self-discovery that are the hardest. If change were on a scale, from 0-10, moving from 0-1 is often the most challenging, as it requires adding something fundamentally new to ourselves, rather than simply multiplying the skills and qualities that we already have.
Should we collaborate, the search, and discovery, of new traits and competencies can take place in a non-judgmental and supportive environment. Whether it be innovating new ways to manage intense emotions, helping with relational breakdown or loss, exploring your past and bringing to light the way it may continue to impact your present and, perhaps most importantly, improving our relationship with ourselves, so that we can learn to treat ourselves with more compassion. Without the skills to offer compassion to ourselves we may limit our enjoyment of life, the company of others and ourselves, and may blind us to the love we receive from our family or peers.
I work in compassion-focused approach so that we may develop a deeper insight to how we feel, what emotions we experience and where the root of those emotions might lie. With that knowledge, you can then decide whether to, and how to change those patterns, so they might best serve you.
I work with adults and students. I have spent a decade in intervention-based adult and KS3-5 mental health roles and have expertise in treating low mood and depression, anxiety and stress/threat states, loss, bereavement and grief occurring due to transitions in role or stages of life as well as trauma relating to one’s past. I also have a great deal of experience working therapeutically with Psychosis and difficulty arising from neurodiversity.
I recently opened an evening practice that can offer slots, starting at 6-8pm on weekdays.
I have also opened my books for a Saturday practice, running from 8am-6pm.
