About me

You might be struggling with anxiety, feeling depressed, suffered a bereavement or having problems with relationships. Talking to a trained professional can help you explore your concerns, thoughts and feelings and improve relationships and your mental wellbeing. The goal of the therapy is to know yourself more fully, become more whole, and live your live more richly.

Together we will explore the difficulties that bring you to therapy, focussing on relationships now and in your past working in a compassionate and supportive way.

I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist, working in private practice and the NHS. I trained at Birkbeck, University of London (Master of Science) and registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

You can contact me to arrange an introductory call or a full initial consultation to discuss your needs and establish what will best suit you.

My Services:

Research shows the most important thing in bringing about change is the relationship you have with your counsellor or psychotherapist, so together we will decide what service will suit you in addressing your needs and overcoming the challenges that bring you to therapy. I work in compassionate and supportive way, understanding how hard it can be to ask for help and to make a start with therapy.

We will meet for an initial consultation to discuss the problems that bring you to therapy and decide how to proceed, this consultation will last around 90 minutes and there is a fee of £90.

Contact me to arrange an introductory conversation or a consultation.

Counselling - Time limited with a focus, online or in person

Usually 24 sessions we focus on a particular problem or set of problems. We will meet weekly for 50 minutes and will work together to help you find your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with your problems.

Psychotherapy - Long term/open ended, online or in person

This kind of therapy addresses underlying issues and causes, often from your past, which may be concerning you, or affecting your relationships with others. In your sessions you will be encouraged to talk freely and to look deeper into your problems and worries. We will meet on a regular basis for 50 minutes, this stable, confidential structure gives us the chance to connect with and understand what is happening at a deeper level. This type of therapy doesn't offer any quick fix, and you may be in treatment for several months or years, depending on the scope and depth of your treatment.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
