About me

I am a psychotherapist, couples therapist, and clinical supervisor with over 25 years' experience working with adults, young people, families, and couples across a range of therapeutic and mental health settings.

Whether you are seeking support with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, addiction, loss, low self-esteem, or a major life transition, I offer a thoughtful, supportive, and emotionally containing space in which to explore what is troubling you.

My approach is integrative, drawing primarily on psychodynamic and relational thinking while remaining attentive to the social, cultural, and embodied aspects of experience. I believe that our difficulties do not arise in isolation but are often shaped by our relationships, histories, families, communities, and wider social circumstances.

The therapeutic relationship is central to my work. Whether we meet for a few sessions or work together over a longer period, I aim to create a space where you feel safe enough to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with curiosity rather than judgement. Together we can make sense of recurring patterns, develop greater self-awareness, and discover new possibilities for change.

My professional background includes work in community, educational, specialist trauma, addiction, and forensic services. I have extensive experience working with survivors of abuse and sexual violence, as well as with individuals who have engaged in harmful or offending behaviours. This breadth of experience has given me a deep appreciation of the ways people adapt to adversity and the complexity of human relationships.

Alongside individual therapy, I work with couples seeking support around communication difficulties, conflict, trust, intimacy, life transitions, and recurring relationship patterns. I also provide clinical supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists, trainees, and other helping professionals, offering a reflective and collaborative space to think about clinical work and professional development.

I offer therapy and supervision both in person from my practice in Wood Street, Walthamstow, East London, and online. I provide both short-term and open-ended work depending on your needs and circumstances.

If you are considering therapy or supervision, please get in touch. It is helpful if you can provide a brief outline of what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from our work together.

All sessions are confidential and conducted in accordance with the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • MA Human Rights and Migration Studies 2025, University of Macedonia, Greece
  • Post Qualification Certificate in Supervision, 2021. WPF, London
  • MA Psychosocial Studies, 2011. Birkbeck College, UCL, UK
  • PG Diploma Psychotherapeutic Counselling, 2003. University of Sussex, UK
  • BA Honours Sociology, 1997. University of Middlesex, UK

For over 25 years I've worked as a health and social care professional providing support and advice to adults, adolescents and children in health, social care and educational settings. In 2001 I decided to train to be a psychodynamically informed counsellor, qualifying with a P.G Diploma from the University of Sussex in 2003.

Alongside my work with young people and adults in addiction and mental health services, I provided counselling to adults in a GP surgery and children in primary school. It was during my placements working with children and young people that I learnt the value and techniques of art and play based therapy.

To further my academic studies, I completed an MA in Psychosocial studies at UCL Birkbeck, in 2011 . The course afforded me the opportunity to explore classical and contemporary cultural and psychoanalytic theory and its application in my practice.

As time progressed I was given the chance to establish and manage new counselling projects in both a primary and secondary school settings and most recently held the position of Deputy CEO, Training Manager, and Forensic Psychotherapist for Respond, a Trauma service based in London. During 2019/20, I worked for an NGO in Athens, Greece, providing 1-1 and group therapy to refugees and asylum seekers. Consolidating my work in this field, I completed an MA in Human Rights and Migration Studies at the University of Macedonia at Thessaloniki in 2024, and continue to provide supervision and guidance to NGOs working in Europe.

Since 2016 I have run a private practice offering 1-1 therapy in person and online. In 2021 I completed a clinical supervision training at WPF in London and now provide 1-1 and group supervision to therapeutic practitioners.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
