About me

I’m a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and a registered member of the BACP, offering a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted for who you are.

I believe that everyone’s experience is unique, and that you, are the expert in your own life. My role is not to tell you what you should do, but to walk alongside you, offering empathy, understanding and acceptance as you explore whatever may be bringing you to counselling.

I work with adults and children and young people, supporting a range of difficulties including anxiety, low self-esteem, relationships, grief and loss, trauma, emotional difficulties and experiences of abuse. I have particular experience supporting survivors of sexual abuse and working with complex and difficult life experiences.

My approach is person-centred, whilst drawing on additional therapeutic tools where appropriate and guided by your individual needs. I work collaboratively and at your pace, creating a space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement.

I offer counselling in person, online and by telephone, providing flexibility to access support in a way that feels comfortable for you.

If you’re considering counselling but aren’t sure whether it’s right for you, please feel free to get in touch. You don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out … we can simply start with where you are.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor, with Level 5 training in Therapeutic Counselling, and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

My experience includes working with adults and young people experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, self-esteem and issues affecting emotional wellbeing.

Alongside my private counselling practice, I work within an emotional wellbeing setting, supporting clients through therapeutic conversations and emotional wellbeing interventions. This has given me experience of working with people from a variety of backgrounds and with different needs, whilst developing a compassionate, non-judgemental and person-centred approach.

I am committed to continued professional development and regularly develop my knowledge through further training, supervision and reflective practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

understand that reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, and finding the right counsellor is important. I aim to create a warm, genuine and accepting space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly about whatever may be bringing you to counselling.

My approach is person-centred, meaning that I will not judge you, tell you what you should do or make assumptions about your experiences. Instead, I will work alongside you to understand your individual experience and support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings and relationships at a pace that feels right for you.

I believe the relationship is at the heart of all our work and for effective counselling, I therefore place great importance on building trust, safety, and understanding within our sessions.
