10 Hocker Hill Street
I offer counselling to individuals and couples. I have substantial experience of working with people who have experienced loss, relationship breakdown, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and where there has been a cancer diagnosis. I see individuals and couples who define their sexuality as heterosexual, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. I take a Humanistic approach, which means my aim is to support and enable you to find ways to overcome your difficulties and develop your full potential.
There are times in your life when you feel you need to speak to someone outside your family or friendship circle. You may be feeling isolated during a particularly stressful time, or feel depressed and anxious or may not be aware of the reasons you are feeling unhappy and dissatisfied with your life. You may find forming and/or maintaining relationships difficult, or feel you are consistently repeating the same negative patterns in your relationships.
Couple Counselling is for anyone who is experiencing difficulties with their relationship, you may be married, living together or apart. All couples experience periods when their relationship becomes strained for different reasons. It's when communication breaks down difficulties can become overwhelming, which in turn can create a distance between you as couple. Through the counselling process communication between you as a couple can improve and consequently enable you to deal with any difficulties you are experiencing.
What happens at my first appointment?
Your first appointment gives you an opportunity to explore what brings you for counselling and what you are wanting from counselling. We will both discuss whether my counselling service suits your needs and if agreed will discuss number off appointments required.
How often will I have appointment
Appointments take an hour and usually take place once a week but can take place fortnightly depending on your needs. The number of appointments is tailored to the needs of the couple or individual depending on what is discussed at the initial appointment.
