Psychotherapist UKCP registered - Face to face & online

About me

I am a registered UKCP Gestalt Psychotherapist and qualified supervisor. I also qualified as a Relationship Counsellor with Relate. I work face to face, short term and long term, and also work on line using zoom. There are benefits of working online, including the advantage of being in your own home. Also time saved on travelling, and as a couple you can be seen when in different locations.

I have over 20 years experience of working with people who experience loss, bereavement, relationship difficulties, trauma, depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. I see young adults from the age of 18 up to older adults aged 65+.

I worked for a number of years as a Macmillan Counsellor with both individuals and couples, where there had been a cancer diagnosis. I see individuals and couples who define their sexuality as heterosexual, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. (LGBTIQA+) I take a Humanistic approach, which means my aim is to support and enable you to find ways to overcome your difficulties and develop your full potential.

Individual Psychotherapy

There are times in your life when you may feel you need to speak to someone outside your family or friendship circle. You may be feeling isolated during a particularly stressful time in your life. Experiencing depression, anxiety, general anxiety disorder, or you may not be aware of the reasons you are feeling unhappy, sad or dissatisfied with your life. You may find forming and/or maintaining relationships difficult. Perhaps you feel you are consistently repeating the same negative patterns in your relationships. I see individuals both short term and longer term.

Relationship Therapy

I see both couples and individuals who are experiencing difficulties with their intimate relationships, you may be single, married, living together or apart. All couples experience periods when their relationship becomes strained for different reasons. It's when communication breaks down, difficulties can become overwhelming. This in turn can create anxiety, depression and a distance between you as couple. Through the therapy process, communication between you as a couple can improve.  Consequently improved communication enables you to deal more effectively with any difficulties you are experiencing.

What happens at my first appointment?

Your first appointment gives you an opportunity to explore what brings you for therapy, and what you are wanting from this process. We will both discuss whether my service suits your needs, and if agreed will discuss number of appointments required.

How often will I have appointment

Appointments take an hour and usually take place once a week but can take place fortnightly depending on your needs. The number of appointments is tailored to the needs of the couple or individual depending on what is discussed at the initial appointment.
