About me
Hello, I'm India - I am an experienced, integrative counsellor working with adult individuals both face to face and online. My practice rooms are based in London Bridge and Tunbridge Wells. I am fully insured and registered with the ICO and I also have an up to date Enhanced DBS.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Therapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists). As an integrative counsellor I draw from different theoretical approaches in response to your needs; the foundations of my practice are rooted in Person-Centred and Psychodynamic theory.
I work in a client-centred way and will be led by you and the agenda that you bring to our work. I believe that the relationship between a counsellor and a client is the most important aspect of therapy and I will offer you a compassionate and empathic space to explore your emotions at your own pace.
I am trained to work with a range of issues but I have particular experience working with:
-Anxiety
-Bereavement
-Neurodivergence - Autism/ADHD
Alongside private practice I have worked in many different settings over the years including in palliative care, as part of a hospice counselling team, with the Samaritans and with young people experiencing a range of different issues.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

It can feel like a huge decision reaching out for counselling. I offer a free 20 minute initial phone call to give you the opportunity to find out more about the way I work. All future sessions will be 50 minutes long and will take place weekly. We can discuss whether you would like to work to a fixed number of sessions or would prefer open-ended, long-term counselling.
