About me

I offer a warm, confidential, and compassionate space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. I believe that beginning psychotherapy is a deeply personal journey. My aim is to create a comfortable, non-judgemental environment where you can take the time and space you need to explore your thoughts, feelings, experiences and relationships. I work from an attachment-based perspective, supporting adults aged 18 and over. My practice is based in Berkshire. I also offer online sessions. Whether you are considering psychotherapy for the first time and have questions about how it works, or you are already familiar with therapy and would like to explore something more deeply, I would be very happy to hear from you. Please feel free to get in touch. We can have an initial conversation about what has brought you to therapy and explore together whether psychotherapy might be right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

My journey began as a qualified Social Worker before becoming a Psychotherapist, and I have always been passionate about supporting people to understand the roots of their difficulties and, together, find a way forward. I have over 12 years of experience working across a range of settings, including charities, local authorities and the NHS. Throughout my career, I have supported individuals and families experiencing a wide variety of challenges and life circumstances. My professional experience has enabled me to develop a deeper understanding of how our life experiences and relationships can shape our emotional wellbeing, influence how we see ourselves, and affect the way we relate to others. I offer a compassionate, non-judgemental, and collaborative space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. Together, we can work towards developing greater understanding, building confidence, and finding ways to navigate the challenges you may be facing.

My approach

My approach is rooted in attachment-based psychoanalytic therapy, which allows us to explore how our early experiences and relationships can shape the way we understand ourselves and connect with others.

Drawing on my background in social work, I also integrate approaches from CBT, DBT, Systemic, and Person-Centred therapy. I believe that every person is unique, and that therapy should be shaped around you rather than expecting you to fit into one particular approach.

I therefore take an integrative and collaborative approach, working with you to understand what feels most helpful and meaningful for your individual needs. My aim is to create a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and able to explore whatever you may be experiencing at your own pace.

Further information

Psychotherapy can offer a supportive and confidential space to explore a range of difficulties, including challenging life experiences, emotional struggles and relationship difficulties. At times, you may find yourself repeating patterns of thoughts, feelings or behaviours that no longer feel helpful. You may also feel stuck, overwhelmed or uncertain about how to move forward. Psychotherapy can provide an opportunity to slow down, make sense of what you are experiencing and develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships. Together, we can explore what may be contributing to your difficulties and consider the changes that feel meaningful and right for you at this stage of your life.

What Can Psychotherapy Help With? People come to psychotherapy for many different reasons. You may be experiencing a particular difficulty, going through a challenging period in your life, or simply feel that something is not quite right and would like some support to understand it. Psychotherapy can offer a space to explore and work through experiences such as: Anxiety, worry or feelings of being overwhelmed Low mood, sadness or loss of motivation Stress and difficulties coping with life changes Relationship difficulties and patterns that may feel difficult to change Low self-esteem or difficulties with confidence Experiences from the past that continue to affect you in the present Bereavement, loss or significant life changes Feeling stuck, disconnected or uncertain about the direction of your life Difficulties understanding or managing emotions Repeating patterns of thoughts, feelings or behaviours that no longer feel helpful You do not need to have a diagnosis or be able to clearly explain what is troubling you before seeking therapy. Sometimes, simply having a sense that you would like things to feel different can be a reason to reach out. Therapy offers an opportunity to explore what you are experiencing at your own pace, with a compassionate and non-judgemental therapist, and to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and what may be affecting your wellbeing.

An Inclusive and welcoming space:

I welcome individuals from all backgrounds and am committed to providing a respectful, compassionate and non-judgemental therapeutic space. I welcome individuals with disabilities and recognise that everyone’s needs and circumstances are different. If you have a disability or accessibility requirement, please feel free to discuss this with me before or during our initial conversation. We can explore what adjustments or support may be helpful to enable you to feel as comfortable and supported as possible within the therapy setting.
