About me
Are you looking for a space to focus on you and your mental health? Do you have thoughts or feelings you would like to make sense of? You may be experiencing anxiety that feels overwhelming or preventing you from living the life you want. You may wish to explore past or present experiences, family relationships, family issues, anxiety, OCD, trauma, loneliness, low self esteem, depression, anger, neurodiversity such as Autism or ADHD, or simply have time to talk through things with someone.
I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space where we can work together in a way that supports you. I have experience working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, bereavement, depression, family and relationship difficulties, stress, trauma, loneliness, anger and low self-esteem. I have worked with people from a variety of ages, cultures and backgrounds, including those who identify as neurodivergent.
I regularly support clients experiencing anxiety. Sometimes it can be helpful to talk through practical strategies, while also exploring the underlying causes of fears or worries. Together, we can work towards helping you feel more in control of your anxiety rather than it controlling you.
I also have experience working with individuals who feel different or who may have suspected or diagnosed ADHD or Autism. My priority is to support you in exploring who you are and how you experience the world. Developing this understanding can help you recognise your needs and appreciate that being different does not mean being wrong.
My training allows me to work integratively, drawing on approaches such as Psychodynamic and Person-Centred Therapy to help make sense of what may be happening for you. Counselling is always a collaborative process where your needs remain central.
I am a fully qualified and insured counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework, ensuring that my practice is safe, ethical and professional.
What will counselling be like with me?
When arriving at The Sanctuary, there is a waiting area where you can make yourself comfortable. At our agreed time, I will welcome you into the counselling room. Each session lasts 50 minutes, providing time for you to talk about whatever feels important. There will also be opportunities for reflection and review so we can ensure our work together continues to meet your needs.
I offer both short-term and long-term counselling. There are no expectations around how many sessions you have, and you are free to continue or stop at any point. Some people find it helpful to begin with weekly sessions in six-week blocks, although I aim to remain flexible depending on your circumstances.
Location
I currently offer sessions at The Sanctuary in North Stoke. The counselling rooms are located on the grounds of North Stoke Farm in a peaceful countryside setting. The Sanctuary is a collective of practitioners offering a range of wellbeing services including chiropractic care and reflexology. There is parking available and a comfortable waiting area.
The location is approximately:
• 8 minutes from Wallingford
• 18 minutes from Caversham
• 8 minutes from Goring
• 30 minutes from Oxford
Our first session,
After making contact, we can arrange a free 20-minute introductory phone call so that you can decide whether I feel like the right counsellor for you. If you would like to proceed, we can then arrange a time to meet at The Sanctuary. The first session provides an opportunity to go through the counselling agreement and discuss anything that feels important for you before beginning our work together.
Fees
Each session will cost £55 and I ask that this is paid prior to the session. I am happy to discuss concessions if financial issues are creating a barrier.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
