About me
Hi, my name's Harriet and I'm the founder of Thrive- Therapy and Counselling.
I'm a qualified counsellor offering warm, compassionate and non-judgemental counselling in a private space in Newquay, Cornwall as well as online.
My approach is person-centred, meaning our sessions are shaped around you. There is no judgement, no pressure and no expectation that you need to have the answers. Together, we can slow things down, make sense of what you're experiencing and explore what you need.
Perhaps, you've found me whilst feeling overwhelmed, exhausted or stuck. Maybe you've spent a long time putting everyone else first, trying to keep everything together, while quietly struggling inside. Or perhaps you simply know that something needs to change, but you're not sure where to begin. You don't have to work it all out alone.
I have a particular interest in ADHD and neurodiversity and offer a neuroaffirming space to explore who you are, especially if you're discovering this later in life. I understand this can lead to a new understanding of yourself, while also bringing up questions around identity, self esteem, relationships, overwhelm and feeling like you're constantly trying to catch up.
A major part of my counselling journey has been spent working with grief and loss, having trained and worked with CRUSE and The Foundation for Infant and Baby Loss. I would be honoured to sit with you in your grief.
My aim is to offer a safe, relaxed and accepting space where you can come exactly as you are. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, burnout, relationship difficulties, life changes due to grief and loss or simply feeling lost, counselling can provide a space where you get to be heard.
You don't need to know exactly what you need before you reach out. We can start there.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
