About me

When something doesn’t feel right, it can be hard to put into words—especially if, on the surface, your life looks as though it’s “fine”.

You might be feeling low, anxious, or struggling with self-esteem. You may find yourself stuck in the same patterns in relationships, or facing a difficult decision, loss, or life situation that feels hard to navigate. Or there may be a more general sense of dissatisfaction—like something isn’t quite working, even if you can’t explain why.

I offer a calm, private space where you can begin to talk openly and make sense of what’s going on for you.

I am an experienced Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, working in private practice in Northallerton and online. My approach is thoughtful, exploratory, and collaborative. Rather than giving advice or quick solutions, I will support you in exploring your thoughts and feelings more deeply, helping you to understand the underlying patterns that may be shaping your experiences.

Often, the difficulties we face have roots in earlier relationships and experiences. We can find ourselves repeating ways of relating or coping that once made sense, but now leave us feeling stuck, frustrated, or disconnected. Therapy offers the opportunity to recognise and work through these patterns, so that something can begin to shift.

Clients often tell me they value having a space where they feel genuinely listened to—without judgement, pressure, or expectation—and where they can begin to understand themselves more clearly.

Sessions take place weekly and last 50 minutes.

Next steps

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re unsure where to begin.

I offer a free, no-obligation 10-minute telephone consultation. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you. You’re welcome to contact me by email to arrange this.
