About me

Hello, I’m Hannah, a BACP-accredited, trauma-informed integrative counsellor based in central Canterbury. I offer face-to-face sessions at my light and spacious therapy practice, as well as online sessions via Google Meet and Doxy.me.

I specialise in working with a wide range of life challenges, including depression, trauma, abuse, anxiety, low self-esteem, estrangement, neurodivergent challenges (such as ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and autism), relationship difficulties, cancer, PTSD and CPTSD, baby loss, narcissistic and dysfunctional families, menopause, perimenopause, and issues related to gender identity and sexuality.

Having personally received a diagnosis of ADHD and dyslexia later in life, I understand how being made to feel different can impact your childhood and adolescence, and the effect it can have on your self-esteem and the value you place on yourself. I am passionate about providing a compassionate, neurodiversity- and LGBTQ+-affirming space. Here, you can safely express your thoughts, feelings, and emotions without fear of judgment.

Clients often share that working with me helps them feel safe, heard, understood, and accepted. My approach is collaborative; I journey alongside you, facilitating exploration of your experiences to deepen self-awareness and uncover your inner strengths. This process can have a profound impact on your ability to confront life’s challenges and improve the relationship you have both with yourself and those around you. I firmly believe that learning to trust, accept, and value ourselves for who we are enables us to develop and change to become the best versions of ourselves.

Practice Description

Whether you've been struggling for a long time or are facing a recent challenge, my therapy practice offers you a safe space to talk openly and honestly about whatever you need.

As an integrative counsellor, I’m trained in more than one therapeutic modality. Guided by the idea that no single approach works best for everyone, my work draws on a blend of person-centred therapy, transactional analysis, trauma-informed therapy, and relational therapy.

I believe in combining real-world wisdom with cutting-edge therapeutic techniques to support you in building a more fulfilling and enjoyable life. Guided by the principles of integrity, respect, and empathy, I listen intently, helping you explore your emotions and connect more deeply with your feelings. My goal is to assist you in uncovering answers from within, enabling you to gain a better understanding and move forward with confidence.

I work face-to-face from a light and spacious therapy practice in central Canterbury, Kent. Sessions can also be held online via Google Meet, Doxy.me.

How to get in touch

There's no pressure or obligation to commit to therapy – you’re free to decide how you would prefer to proceed.

If you're interested in working with me, please reach out. I aim to respond to your inquiry within 48 hours (or on Monday if you contact me over the weekend). Please check your spam folder to ensure you receive my response.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
