About me
Perhaps you are looking for help to find your bearings while going through a time of crisis and/or you who wish to examine your life more fully to address issues that have affected you over time. With the help of therapy, you can start understanding your inner world and thought patterns more clearly and remove the feelings of anxiety and worry from your mind.
I am a psychoanalyst and psychoanalytic psychotherapist practising in London on Wednesdays and from my home in Royston the rest of the week. My goal is to provide you with a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space in which you can open up and talk freely about what's on your mind. I offer sessions face to face or online, in English and French.
The modality of therapy I offer is psychoanalytic: this means that the problems brought to the sessions are not treated only as a cause of suffering but also as a source of knowledge useful to bring about change. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy aims to go deep into your emotions, understanding how your early life has formed strategies that might contribute to unhelpful patterns in adulthood with the aim of gradually removing distress, helping you to live a fuller life.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an MSc in Psychodynamic of Human Development and also completed the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy clinical training at the Guild of Psychotherapists.
My background is in education. I have been helping people in the charity sector for many years. I was an in-house therapist at the Psychosis Project and I have been an honorary therapist at the Guild of Psychotherapist's low fee clinic for over 6 years.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
