About me
Welcome
Whether you are considering therapy to address a specific issue or because you feel something is not quite right within you/in your life or if you are you just trying to make sense of things, I can offer you a safe confidential space where you can feel heard and where your fears and anxieties can be contained and explored. We can work together in creating a sense of connection and a strong therapeutic alliance that can enable you to achieve the things that are important to you and overcome the difficulties that are perhaps stopping you from moving forward in your life.
I understand the importance of having a safe space where you can be supported in exploring your lived experience, its complexities and express all difficult feelings and thoughts that cannot be easily shared elsewhere. By building a therapeutic alliance we can work together to enable a more in-depth exploration of the self, the dilemmas & difficulties of life while also enabling and reinforcing the identification of the more positive meaningful things important to you. It is not always easy to look at the issues we are experiencing or at the things within ourselves that we feel need changing but therapy can help to navigate and explore these in a safe manner in order to create positive change. Even if at times difficult and uncomfortable, therapy can be an inspiring and empowering journey of self-discovery and growth.
In this safe space long standing problems or new specific issues can be explored and tackled. It is not uncommon for people to repeat unhelpful patterns and in therapy these can be explored with a non-judgemental attitude to create an opportunity to engage in new, better and more adaptive ways of living. Therapy is also a space for reflection, understanding and development of more self-awareness.
In my role as therapist my focus is to ensure you feel heard and not alone and to support you in navigating difficulties to reach a more fulfilling life experience.
Integrity and authenticity are pivotal to my way of being and practicing. I work in an empowering, compassionate, empathic manner and I believe in a collaborative respectful therapeutic space.
As an experienced qualified clinician I am well aware of how privileged I am in being able to support people from all walks of life and being offered their trust. This trust I cherish & honour.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Therapeutic Agreement
Prior to starting treatment I will provide you with the therapeutic agreement - this is an important document that clients need reviewing prior to starting treatment. A therapeutic agreement offers an illustration of the principles of the working therapeutic collaboration (e.g. time, fees, sessions etc.) and defines how the client and the therapist will work together including the relevant rights and responsibilities for both. This ensures clients can give ‘informed consent and agreement’ and a clear working framework in set to enhance the creation of a reciprocally respectful safe therapeutic space. The treatment can begin once I receive the confirmation of informed consent and agreement.
