About me

Choosing to begin therapy can feel like a big step, and finding the right therapist is an important part of that process.

I believe that meaningful change begins when we feel genuinely heard, accepted, and understood. My role is to offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, at your own pace, about whatever is bringing you to therapy.

Grounded in person-centred theory, I work collaboratively with each individual, recognising that no two people or experiences are the same. Rather than giving advice or telling you what to do, I aim to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences and the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Where appropriate, I may draw on other therapeutic approaches to best support your individual needs, while remaining rooted in a person-centred way of working.

I work online with individuals across the UK, offering 50-minute sessions. Online therapy provides a flexible and accessible way to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, grief, life transitions, low self-esteem, stress, or simply feel that something isn’t quite right, therapy offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and move towards living in a way that feels more authentic to you.

My aim is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel accepted for who you are, supported to explore what matters most to you, and empowered to move forward in a way that feels right for your life.

    BSc

Experience

My professional training has provided me with experience of working therapeutically with adults facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, relationship difficulties, life transitions, stress and loss, and family estrangement.

I recognise that every person brings their own unique experiences, strengths and story to therapy. I aim to create a warm, accepting and non-judgemental environment where you feel able to explore whatever has brought you to counselling, knowing that you will be listened to with care, empathy and respect.

I currently offer online counselling to individual adults across the UK via Microsoft Teams.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Alongside the areas listed on my profile, I have experience supporting individuals through bereavement and loss, family difficulties, loneliness, relationship challenges, emotional abuse and controlling relationships, low self-worth, intrusive thoughts, identity and life transitions, and exploring sexual orientation.

I also have experience supporting people through the emotional impact of suicide within families, helping them navigate the complex thoughts and feelings that can arise when someone they love has attempted to take their own life.

If you are unsure whether counselling is right for you or whether I am the right therapist for your needs, please feel free to get in touch. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have before arranging an introductory call.

Further information

I offer a free 30-minute introductory call, giving us the opportunity to meet, discuss what has brought you to therapy, and explore whether we feel we are the right fit to work together.

Sessions last 50 minutes and, at the beginning of therapy, I generally recommend meeting on a weekly basis. Consistency is an important part of building a trusting therapeutic relationship, and weekly sessions provide the time and space for this to develop.

I usually suggest committing to an initial 10 sessions. This offers us the opportunity to build a strong therapeutic relationship, explore your experiences in depth, and begin working towards meaningful change without feeling rushed. Towards the end of those sessions, we will review together how things are progressing and decide collaboratively whether to bring therapy to a close, continue for a little longer, or, where appropriate, move to fortnightly sessions.

I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel like a significant step. If you have any questions before booking your introductory call, please feel free to get in touch.
