About me

I am an Art Psychotherapist with a background in mindfulness and yoga teaching. I have wide-ranging experience of supporting people to explore their concerns and this can be an enjoyable as well as a provocative experience. I aim to assist clients with working through emotional and psychological difficulties to gain self-understanding and discover ways to feel more connected within themself and expressive in relation to others and their wider environments.

I hold a bio-psycho-social outlook in my work. This means we will work together to explore your therapeutic enquiry within a sociocultural framework, alongside an exploration of unconscious psychological forces and developmentally informed relationship patterns that may be at play in your life. I use an integrative approach including verbal communication, creative expression, and working with myths and symbols, depending on what feels useful. I draw on trauma-informed perspectives, including mindfulness and somatics as and when and required.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (the regulatory body for Art Psychotherapy in the UK) and adhere to their Art Psychotherapy Standards of Proficiency. I am a member of the British Association of Art Psychotherapists and follow their professional Code of Ethics.

Having completed further training in Attachment-Based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, I am currently seeking new clients interested in this modality.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed a Jungian based MA Art Psychotherapy qualification at Roehampton University and have over 10 years experience of working with young and older adults and vulnerable people across various sectors. This includes offering psychotherapy and art therapy in schools and sixth form colleges, higher education, victim support and other third sector organisations, and NHS adult mental health services.
