About me

There are many reasons people come to therapy. Sometimes it is very clear; other times, it can be hard to put into words.

Wherever you happen to be, we can think together about what you may need.

Welcome

I'm George, a relational  psychotherapist and counsellor. I work both online and in person in Central London, including Regent's Park, Camden, Fitzrovia and Euston.

I offer a warm, reflective space where we can explore what has brought you to therapy with curiosity and compassion.

I am experienced in working across cultures, social contexts, and with neurodiversity. While attachment and relational-based therapy sit at the heart of my practice, I also hold an interest in pluralistic and existential thinking, valuing intersectionality and the richness of difference as central to therapeutic understanding.

The therapy flows with you, and explores your lived-experience, relationships, and past. Through this process, we may begin to understand behaviours and patterns of relating that may no longer serve you, helping heal emotional pain and supporting greater authenticity & self-acceptance.

Getting Started

I believe that meaningful therapy can only begin if you feel comfortable, safe and able to be yourself.

To ensure that we are a good match, I offer a free introductory call. This gives us an opportunity to get to know each other and talk about what has been going on for you. If it feels right, we can arrange a first session.

First Session

The first session is an opportunity to explore your needs and think together about how therapy might best support you. I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have, and together we can think about whether therapy with me feels right for you.

Above all, my priority is to create a safe, relaxed space where you can freely explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

My Approach

As an attachment-informed counsellor and psychotherapist, my approach is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and attunement.

The therapy is to help bring about a deeper level of psychological healing and understanding, and explores how past experiences and relationships shape the way we live today.

My primary aims are to help you release emotional burdens, gain understanding, and move towards a way of being that feels more connected and attuned to who you really are.

Training, qualifications & experience

Professional Background

I hold a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the UK Council for Psychotherapy. I am fully insured and work in accordance with their professional ethical frameworks.

I have experience supporting people from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including those experiencing:

  • Anxiety and panic attacks
  • Depression and low mood
  • Stress and burnout
  • Trauma and attachment difficulties
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Suicidal thoughts and emotional overwhelm
  • Identity, difference, and belonging
  • Neurodiversity (ADHD and autism)
  • Questions of meaning, purpose, and connection
  • LGBTQ+
  • Mens issues

Training and Experience

As part of my clinical training, I worked extensively within counselling services in East London, supporting clients from a diverse range of cultural and social backgrounds.

Alongside private practice, I bring over 10 years of experience working in pastoral care, safeguarding, and mental health support within educational settings. These experiences continue to inform my therapeutic work and understanding of emotional wellbeing, trauma, and relational difficulties.

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

Alongside my clinical practice, I am a trainee at The Bowlby Centre, training in attachment-based psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

For clients who wish to work more deeply psychoanalytically, I am able to offer therapy at a frequency of twice weekly. As this work forms part of my ongoing training, a reduced fee applies.

While attachment and relational psychotherapy sit at the heart of my practice, I also hold an interest in existential thinking, valuing intersectionality and the richness of difference as central to therapeutic understanding.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
