About me

I take a holistic approach to therapy, meaning I consider the whole of your experience rather than focusing solely on immediate symptoms or quick fixes. This creates space to explore how different areas of life connect and influence one another, supporting deeper understanding and more lasting change.

I am especially mindful of the wider social, cultural, and systemic contexts that shape our lives. For many people, this includes experiences related to identity, faith, community, and belonging. I recognise that religious or spiritual beliefs can be a significant source of meaning, comfort, and identity, and these are always met with respect and openness in my work. Clients of all faiths, as well as those with no religious beliefs, are welcome.

I am also attentive to how power, bias, and inequality can impact emotional well-being. This includes awareness of the additional pressures faced by people from racialised communities, sexual and gender minorities, and others who experience marginalisation. At the same time, I hold a strong commitment to meeting each person as an individual, without assumption, and creating a space where differences are explored with curiosity, sensitivity, and care.

Alongside my counselling training, I bring over 14 years of experience working in care settings, including supporting older adults living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, and teenagers with learning disabilities. This work has shaped my understanding of vulnerability, communication differences, and the importance of dignity, patience, and relational safety.

I aim to offer a therapeutic space where people feel genuinely seen and respected in the full complexity of who they are.

I’m a qualified integrative psychotherapist, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, humanistic, psychodynamic, and CBT, to suit the unique needs of each person I work with. I believe that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I aim to meet clients where they are, with openness and respect.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
