About me

Covid -19 Statement: I am currently only seeing clients online. I can offer either Video - (Skype, Zoom, Whats app) or telephone sessions. Making a connection during this extraordinary, difficult time of uncertainity and isolation is now more important than ever.

Hello and Welcome.

As a professionally qualified, experienced and registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I have worked in many psycho-therapeutic settings including the NHS and Charity Services.

My experience is fairly broad, I have helped people who have difficulties with stress, generalized anxiety, low mood, depression, medical illness, low levels of confidence /low self-esteem, social anxiety, body image anxiety, eating disorders, childhood issues, relationship difficulties, bullying, trauma, loss, life transitions, negative thoughts, phobias, personality disorders, and general health/well-being.

Whatever the nature or extent of your difficulties, I offer you a safe space where you can share and explore your concerns without being judged.

Why should you see a therapist?

Sometimes life can hurl difficulties our way and it can leave us feeling depleted, confused and detached. Therapy can help to restore and reconnect by helping us to explore and gain insight and acceptance.  Counselling and Psychotherapy is a safe conversation, where you can speak freely and honestly about what is troubling you

The therapeutic process provides you with the security that you no longer have to struggle on and carry the load by yourself.

How I can help you

My way of working would comprise of psychodynamic, and integrative approaches. We would work with both conscious and unconscious aspects of feelings and behaviour, by exploring emotional thoughts and states. This aids us to understand ourselves better and others by making meaningful connections/links between the past and the present. It also aids us to understand and resolve what may be concerning us.

Duration of Therapy

I offer both short-term  (approx. 12 weeks) and open-ended therapy (longer-term) depending on what is required.

Those that look outside dream, those that look inside awaken." — C.G. Jung

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BPC

British Psychoanalytic Council

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
