About me

Hello, I’m Flora - an accredited integrative counsellor and psychotherapist.

I understand that life can sometimes feel deeply lonely - no one experiences things exactly as we do. You might be feeling stuck, unheard, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward - whether that’s connected to griefrelationships, life transitions, or understanding yourself more deeply. Perhaps you’re used to coping on your own, but sometimes it can feel too heavy or confusing to carry alone.

In therapy, I seek to understand your experiences as they genuinely feel to you, to ease the pain of loneliness, offer gentle insight into how past experiences may shape your patterns of feeling, acting, and relating, and explore the possibility of change and growth together.

I believe we each hold an inner wisdom that guides us through life, but many of us may lose touch with it after spending so long trying to fit into others’ expectations. In therapy, we create space to set those expectations aside - a space just for you. Here, you can begin to untangle, unmask, and gently reconnect with the parts of yourself that long to live in their true colours.

[How I work]

My approach is humanistic and relational, built on warmth, respect, and genuine connection. I believe change occurs within a trusting therapeutic relationship, where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences and experiment with new ways of thinking, feeling, and relating. As Brené Brown beautifully said, “When we deny our stories, they define us; When we own our stories, we get to write the ending.”

As an integrative therapist, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to best support each individual client, including:

  • Person-Centred Therapy
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Somatic Therapy
  • Trauma-informed Therapy
  • Creative therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Our work together may involve reflection, creative exploration, or dialogue - always guided by your needs, comfort, and pace.

[Areas I work with]

  • Emotions and memories;
  • Relationship with self, including identity, personal boundaries, self-compassion and self-worth;
  • Anxiety and depression;

Training, qualifications & experience

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in pastoral support for over a decade. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of the challenges people face in both personal and professional settings, and the importance of compassionate, client-centred support.

Qualifications and Training include:

  • BSc in Applied Psychology
  • MSc in Human Resources
  • Foundation Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (Accredited).
  • Bereavement volunteer training by Cruse Bereavement Support
  • Solution-Focused Therapy by Solution Focused Sheffield

I am deeply committed to ongoing learning and professional growth. I regularly engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) through training, supervision, and reflective practice, ensuring my work remains safe, ethical, and aligned with current best practices within psychotherapy.
