Fiona Croston BA (Hons) MBACP Psychotherapeutic Counsellor
Hello, I’m Fiona and I’d like to thank you for visiting my Counselling Directory Profile page.
Sometimes managing our daily lives can seem an uphill struggle. When this happens, having the time to be with someone to explore your difficulties is very important. One of the wonderful benefits of counselling is that it can help identify the obstacles to change and by identifying the small changes we can begin to make big changes in our lives.
I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor trained in Person-Centred Counselling and Transactional Analysis (TA). These two branches of therapy mean that I offer both a supportive, empathic, non-judgemental presence and it also means we can establish and work towards real, achievable goals.
These are just some of the issues I have worked with;
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Attachment disorders
- Low self-esteem
- Stress and illness
- Loss and bereavement
But sometimes we just don’t know why we are feeling down, or have low self-esteem or keep finding ourselves in the same negative situations and relationships with others. TA is clever and it is exciting with its simple understanding that we all have a resilience and determination to strive for and to fulfill our potential. So whether you know what the problem is or not, I will offer you a kind, caring and safe space within a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship and we will work at your pace to gently and relationally explore your difficulties and together we can make sense of them.
What can you expect from working with me?
I offer short term sessions (6-12 weeks) or open-ended sessions.
I have worked with adults and also with young adults and am able to use my empathy, understanding and compassion to put young adults at their ease so they feel confident to open up to me.
