About me

By being curious, you are making the first initial step. Just by coming onto this platform with the intention of having a look, to see who you think you might like to work with. This potential journey is all about you and your discovery, but firstly please allow me to share with you a little about who I am.

My lived experience has given me a depth of knowledge, that has now brought me to a place where I feel, not only have I embraced who I truly am, but curiosity, strength, compassion, and empathy have given me the ability to support others through those moments.

I have found a way to embrace all that life gives and offer it to others in a way that can be healing and transformational.

I now invite you to take that next step if you can, to show yourself compassion, understanding and sometimes forgiveness and love.

Only you can commit to the process to get the most from it and learn to walk alongside your difficulties rather than be overwhelmed and feel that they somehow, control or define you.

As you take the journey, to a more contented self, I will always be honest with you and show you nothing but empathy, compassion and understanding.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I understand getting someone to trust in the process is a big ask.

Our first session is the beginning of that process.

We will explore what has made you want to seek counselling.

I will explain my way of working and let you know about the ethical framework I sit within and BACP's code of conduct.

We will go through a mutually agreed contract.

You will have the opportunity to ask any questions that have to do with the sessions or, what you can expect from me.

This first 15-minute consultation is a chance to ask all those unanswered questions or any queries you might have.
