About me

In counselling we can work together to enable you to heal and become more accepting of yourself, be more connected to those around and live a fuller and deeper life. I work by providing a safe space to explore what has happened in your life, allowing these events to be processed. I bring my empathy and kindness to build a relationship where you feel safe to explore whatever needs to be considered allowing the healing process to begin. I might notice patterns or observe behaviours allowing a deeper journey into your unconscious.

I have experience of working with survivors of abuse, people processing trauma, people struggling to find balance in their day to day lives and find their emotions are affecting their relationships. I have experience working to support neurodiverse individuals and parent and carers or neurodiverse people.

Training, qualifications & experience

Whilst completing my Masters in Counselling at University of Northampton I developed my skills to become a qualified integrative counsellor. Prior to this I had completed CPCAB Level 2 Counselling studies and CPCAB Level 3 Counselling Skills. My core skills are humanistic focusing on a belief that the therapeutic relationship is the way healing occurs. We can use my skills to build this therapeutic relationship and, as an integrative counsellor, I can note patterns, reflect back observations and give space to enable healing to occur. Additionally, I have completed training to work online, trauma training, Safeguarding level 3 and have a full DBS check.

I worked in a general counselling agency working with a wide range of adults and needs such as grief, loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, neurodiversity, relationship breakdown, major life changes and identity issues. During my time working at a charity for survivors of abuse I developed trauma informed therapy skills and undertook trauma training.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
