About me
I’m a qualified Psychosynthesis counsellor offering depth-oriented therapy for adults in Bristol and online.
Many of the people I work with are neurodivergent, highly sensitive women who have spent much of their lives feeling like they are “too much” in some ways and “not enough” in others. They are often deeply caring people who have become exhausted from trying to meet everybody else’s expectations or “fit in” while losing touch with themselves in the process.
You might seek therapy because you’re navigating relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, anger or overwhelming emotions; struggling with self-esteem, body image or a harsh inner critic; feeling burnt out and exhausted; or feeling trapped in a job or a life that doesn’t feel meaningful to you. You may also be going through grief, an ending, uncertainty or another major life transition.
My work is rooted in Psychosynthesis, alongside trauma-informed embodiment and body-based approaches, Jungian psychology and shadow work, and parts work. I believe that our emotions and difficulties are messengers, and that the things we struggle with often developed for very good reasons.
Rather than simply trying to “fix” symptoms, we can become curious about what lies beneath them and reconnect with your emotions, needs, desires, values and inner world. My aim is to support you in developing greater self-understanding, self-trust and agency, while making room for the complexity of being human.
I offer individual therapy online or in person in central Bristol. I offer a free initial conversation where we can explore what brings you to therapy, what support you are looking for, and whether working together feels like the right fit.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling and a certificate in Trauma-Informed Embodiment coaching.
I believe therapy can be both a place to tend to what hurts and a place to rediscover who you truly are.
I’m not a “blank canvas” type of therapist: I’m not going to stare at you blankly for an hour while you talk. I will actively engage with what you say, share my genuine reflections, gently challenge you when it feels helpful, and just be a human with you.
Together, we create a space where you can slow down and explore what is happening beneath the surface. We might explore your inner critic, inner child or other parts of yourself; become more aware of what is happening in your body; look at recurring patterns in your relationships; or explore dreams, symbols, myths and archetypes when these offer a meaningful way into your experience.
I work in a trauma-informed way, which means I will never demand that you retell or re-live an experience you don’t want to revisit. I will respect your agency and, if you become triggered, focus on helping you find grounding and safety.
I will hold unconditional empathy for all the parts of you, including the parts you might dislike or believe to be unworthy of love. At the same time, therapy isn't about pretending that everything is fine. We can be curious about the patterns that are no longer serving you and explore different ways of being.
I will never reduce you to a diagnosis or pathologise your humanity. I believe people are always more complex and meaningful than labels alone.
I also believe that the external circumstances we live in can seriously impact our mental health. I won’t gaslight you into believing all your difficulties are yours alone. Alongside understanding the wider context, I’ll support you in finding greater agency, self-trust and a deeper connection to yourself.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
