About me
What is Dramatherapy?
Dramatherapy is a creative therapy that enables you or your child/young person to use creative tools to explore your inner world. Through play, story, movement, music, metaphor, artmaking or talking, I will meet you or your child/young person where you are most comfortable and gently facilitate a safe, non-judgmental space to go deeper into understanding patterns, parts or self and ways of relating.
Do clients have to be 'creative'?
There is absolutely no expectation to be confident or skilled in drama or creative ways of working. It is more about finding ways to express what is difficult to put into words. So you are welcome to talk and it might be a picture speaks to you about your experience, a small world object says something to you about how you feel or you use stones to represent the members of your family, or the way you move your body expresses a feeling that can't be named. I am client-led and non-directive, so I will accompany you or your child/young person wherever you want to go, travelling alongside you, inviting you to find new perspectives and holding a safe space for you to explore whatever emerges.
What are the outcomes?
Clients who have ended therapy feel they have gained new perspectives on who they are, they feel they have more agency in their lives, their confidence has increased, they begin to gently process trauma and unconscious beliefs, reduce less healthy coping strategies, relate to others with authenticity and improve their sense of wellbeing.
And parent/carers express feeling like they understand their child/young person better, they are aware of their strengths and challenges as parents, they are able to support their child/young person better and they have res-established a connection that may have been lost.
What would a session look like?
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes and we would usually begin with checking in, to see what you're holding, then we would explore whatever you'd like to focus on, either by talking it through, or by using art, story, creative writing, play, metaphor, small objects or movement. Then there would be time to come out of the creative space and reflect before the session ends.
What I can offer:
I offer long-term therapy, brief interventions, online work and parent support that fits in with busy lives:
- 1:1 therapy for children and young people (including regular reviews with parents/carers where appropriate)
- 1:1 therapy for adults
- 1:1 therapy for trainee therapists
- Parent/carer support sessions
Thank you for taking this first step to making the changes you need for you or your family. Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a free 20 minute phonecall to discuss how I might be able to support you or your child/young person.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have been providing creative therapies to adults and children/young people in education and therapeutic settings since I qualified in 2011. I also specialised in providing support for survivors of trauma and more specifically, survivors of sexual abuse.
In addition to the therapy work, since 2021 I have been offering therapeutic parenting support and enjoy providing a non-judgemental space for parent/carers to explore difficult patterns and behaviours, begin to unpack and understand what their child/young person may be communicating, and to build connection.
I am also an ASF accredited therapist, providing therapy to children/young people who have been adopted and therapeutic parent support for adoptive parents.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
