About me
Hi, my name is Elisabeth, and I’m a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor. I offer a confidential, supportive space for adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, worn down, or unsure why the same difficulties keep returning.
You might be holding a lot on your own, feeling anxious, stuck or disconnected, or sensing that something needs to change - even if you’re not yet sure what that is. Reaching out for therapy can feel like a vulnerable step. You don’t have to face this alone.
I work collaboratively and at your pace, providing a calm, non-judgemental enviroment where we can slow things down and begin to make sense of what’s happening in your life.
I use a trauma-informed approach to therapy. This means recognising that manifestations such as anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, sleeplessness, unexplained physical symptoms, addicitons, ... may have began as responses that made sense in overwhelming or unsafe situations. Instead of asking “What’s wrong with you, a trauma-informed approach asks “What happened to you -and how did you learn to adapt to difficult life circumstances.”
I work with adults (18+) and have experience supporting people with a wide range of concerns. My practice is based on Gestalt psychotherapy, a relational approach that values your lived experience. This means that rather than analysing or trying to fix you, I approach your experiences with curiosity and care. Together, we explore how past experiences may still be shaping how you feel and relate in the present. This can support greater self‑understanding, emotional awareness, and new possibilities for healing and change.
I have over 20 years' experience working with neurodivergent clients, including people with Autism, ADHD, AuDHD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. I work from a neurodiversity‑appreciative perspective, valuing difference and individuality rather than seeing it as something to be fixed.
How we can begin to work together:
Send me an email: If you’re considering therapy and would like to explore how we could work together, I warmly invite you to get in touch. You can e-mail me using the button above and let me know what’s prompting you to seek therapy. There is no need to go into detail, a few lines are absolutely enough.
Free Introductory Consultation: If this is something you would like, I offer a free 15‑minute introductory consultation by online video call. This is a chance for you to share a little about what’s been going on and to ask any questions. Just tell me in your email that this is something you are interested in. There is no obligation to continue to therapy after that.
Ongoing Therapy: If it feels right to work together, we will arrange your first therapy session. I usually offer 50‑minute sessions once per week and recommend meeting at the same time each week. This can help create a steady rhythm and a sense of safety in the work. I’m also mindful that life isn’t always predictable and, where possible, I aim to be flexible.
Therapy Over Time: At the start of our work, we’ll gently explore what’s brought you to therapy and whether you’re looking for short‑term support or longer‑term psychotherapy. We shape the work together and can adapt it as your needs evolve. Over time, our work may deepen, helping you build awareness, resilience, and new ways of relating to yourself and others.
