About me
I am currently taking on new remote clients (telephone & zoom sessions ONLY) residing within the UK. My available hours are very flexible.
I have been in the field of mental health for 10+ years, the last 7 of which have been within my own private practice 'In Session With Eleni' as a psychotherapist.
My approach is predominantly Person-Centred, however I do draw on elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Transactional Analysis.
I have a particular interest in working with trauma - helping clients make sense of past experiences & develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves.
I also incorporate Re-Parenting work where appropriate, supporting people to meet emotional needs that may not have been fully met in earlier life.
I am bilingual English/Greek & so welcome enquiries from Greek speaking clients who reside in the UK.
I strongly believe that healing happens through feeling genuinely seen, heard & understood. I aim to offer a warm, authentic & supportive therapeutic relationship where my client can safely explore whatever is on their mind.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

YOUR FIRST SESSION WITH ME
The initial step in our work together would be the reading & signing of our therapeutic contract. This will be emailed over to you, & contains all relevant information surrounding confidentiality, payment, boundaries etc. This process will assist in us both feeling safe & clear before we virtually meet for the first time.
You will most likely feel anxious & uncertain during our first session, something that I always keep in mind. There will be no assessments or questionnaires to be completed. My goal will be to simply ask you questions - the answers of which will assist me in finding out more about you & how i can support you best, & you in feeling reassured & increasingly at ease.
