About me

I am a qualified Pluralistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor who is based in West Bridgford, Nottingham but also work online and via telephone. I work with individuals and families and have particular experience also working with parenting, anxiety and autism, but also work with a host of other presenting issues. I hold an updated Enhanced DBS Certificate.

I work with topics including parenting, family issues, anxiety, autism, burnout, depression, neurodiversity, relationships, childhood issues, trauma, grief and bereavement, self-awareness, emotional regulation, sexuality, processing change.

I work from a pluralistic approach which means I am trained in multiple kinds of therapy. I get to know each client and their needs and we work together to tailor the approach that best suits them, using different parts from different schools of therapy to help them achieve their goal. I believe it’s key for everyone’s counselling to be personal to them. When working with families, this can be working with the members individually and also together with alternating sessions to ensure everyone feels heard.

I have my levels 2 and 3 in Person-Centred counselling and my levels 4 and 5 (diploma) in pluralistic psychotherapeutic counselling. I have also completed my level 1 in DDP (dyadic developmental psychotherapy). I have a degree in Theology and Religious Studies and Sociology. I also have multiple A Levels and GCSEs and other certificates in topics around safeguarding.

I have been advised that I create a warm and natural environment for my clients, enabling them to feel safe. I have also been advised that sessions still feel ‘human’ and grounding.

I feel that having a good relationship with my clients is key, and so to see if we are a good fit, I like to have a quick chat on the phone first to ensure you are also happy to proceed. This would normally be for around 10-15 mins to get to know each other, chat about what has made you reach out for counselling, discuss how we could work together and answer any questions. This call is free. After this, sessions would be 50 minutes long and are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

The premises I use for face to face sessions are wheelchair accessible. I also offer telephone and online sessions too.
