About me
Hello, I'm Eleanor, a BACP-registered psychotherapeutic counsellor.
People often seek therapy because they're feeling stuck. Maybe you find yourself repeating patterns in your relationships or at work, have experienced a change in circumstances, or are finding the impact of past events show up in your day to day. Maybe you just feel a bit lost.
In my sessions, my role is to support you to in exploring the situation you find yourself in. Together, we can look at how you might make better sense of how you got here, and what might help you looking ahead.
I offer an integrative approach to therapy work, drawing on different modalities to best meet the needs of the therapy.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Clinical Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counselling from Metanoia Institute.
I support adults experiencing chronic depression, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, early trauma, sexual trauma, bereavement, workplace stress, bullying, burnout, low confidence and self-esteem, and challenges with emotional regulation, as well as those experiencing major life transitions.
I am committed to being LGBTQI+ and GSRD affirmative, offering a supportive space to explore the challenges that can arise from living in a heteronormative world.
I am neuro-affirmative, with experience working with ADHD, autism, or dyspraxia, supporting resilience, self-understanding and explore coping strategies to make life easier to navigate.
I have a particular interest in supporting clients to develop self-esteem, confidence and awareness, including those who identify as neurodivergent or part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Together we can explore how you arrived here, and illuminate what might help you now.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
