About me
I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy with over 20 years experience.
I provide a safe and confidential space to explore the life issues that bring emotional challenges. Though we may have friends & family to talk to, there are times when we know we need something more.
No matter what the situation, I believe we all have the ability to heal & grow from whatever life has put in our way. Working with me in counselling offers the helping hand to address your challenges, in a warm, non-judgemental and supportive way. I adapt my approach to your unique situation, not deliver a 'one size fits all' model. This may bring in unexpected humour and laughter, even when you feel your most low or vulnerable.
Underpinned by a Person-Centred approach & years of continual professional development, I have within my 'Counsellor's toolkit’ a wealth of knowledge & experience to enable you to fully explore your issues, to gain new perspectives & insights for achieving positive solutions & improving your mental health & wellbeing.
As a trained and qualified Couples and Relationship Counsellor, I can facilitate you to gain a better understanding of yourselves in connection to others; whether intimate partners or family members (aged 16+).
Having worked within a wide range of settings, including community, education, voluntary & health sectors, I have extensive experience of working with a variety of presenting problems including historic and current issues of:
· Depression/Low mood
· Anxiety/Stress (including work-related)
· Bereavement and Loss
· Anger
. Historic/ Childhood issues
· Significant Life Changes (incl. Redundancy, Impact of illness/physical health)
· Everyday life issues impacting on mental & emotional wellbeing
· Intrapersonal issue (within self - Self-esteem/ Lack of Confidence or Self-worth)

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
