About me
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile - I can imagine you've scrolled through so many already!
By offering you the opportunity to process things at your own pace, in a confidential, non-judgemental and respectful environment, I hope we can work together to enable you to come to a better understanding of the difficulties you face, to explore where you fit in your world and to find peace within it.
I am a qualified accredited counsellor, who uses an integrative psycho-dynamic model of counselling - this not only looks at what is happening in the here and now, but also takes into account those childhood experiences that continue to impact us into adulthood (whether we are aware of them or not!) My model of counselling also incorporates the teachings of Gerard Egan, which aims to help people identify opportunities and goals in their life for personal improvement and growth.
HOW TO GET STARTED:
You've taken the brave first step to look for a counsellor. You can email me first, or just jump straight in and call me. If I'm unable to get to the phone, leave me a message and I will ring you back as soon as possible. We can have an initial chat, and if you feel you want to go ahead, I will email you a self-referral form. I offer either a telephone assessment or face to face appointment (this will be free of charge), where we will look briefly at what has brought you here, how counselling works, confidentiality, the length of each session and frequency. Your counselling will be arranged to fit your availability and will move at a pace you are comfortable with. What you talk about will be led by you, and you will not be forced to work on something that you are not comfortable discussing.
