About me
I am passionate about supporting people to process and heal from experiences that may have felt overwhelming, whether that’s a single life-changing event or the build-up of many smaller difficulties over time. These experiences can shape how we see ourselves, affect our relationships, and can leave us feeling stuck, lost, hopeless, activated, or disconnected.
EMDR is a powerful approach for working with these kinds of difficulties. It is well known for helping with “big T” traumas, such as accidents, assaults, or major life events, and it is also highly effective for the “small t” experiences we accumulate through life. These can be painful memories or repeated challenges that seemed manageable at the time but have gradually left a lasting impact. EMDR can help to process and release the hold of both.
Alongside EMDR, I bring in my humanistic counselling approach, creating space for reflection, exploration, and personal growth. This integrative way of working means we can focus on both past experiences and their influence on your life now, always at a pace that feels safe and right for you.
I work with adults and adolescents in a warm, compassionate way, offering 50-minute sessions face-to-face or online. Occasionally, sessions may be extended when beginning EMDR processing.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a BACP-accredited Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and qualified Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, I work integratively. This means that we are all unique, not one size fits all, and I will work differently and intuitively with each client. I also believe it’s important to work in a way that feels right for you, at your own pace, so that our sessions together are a collaborative process shaped by your needs.
In addition to EMDR, I draw on a wide range of approaches including Transactional Analysis, Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR), and Mindfulness. This allows me to work with you in ways that best support your healing and growth.
With over 15 years’ experience working in mental health, and counselling practice since 2017, I bring both expertise and insight into the challenges faced at different stages of life. My background includes running a successful therapy service in further and higher education, supporting people through stress, transitions, and personal difficulties.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I believe therapy should be accessible to everyone. I offer sliding scale pricing and accept the specified private insurance plans. My standard self-funded rate is £80 per session, with a limited number of concession spaces available at £65. Please get in touch to discuss what might work best for you.
I offer a free online or phone introductory discussion because it’s important you find a therapist who’s right for you. Our first session will be a chance to meet, hear a bit about you, and for you to ask any questions. You’re welcome to take your time after our first meeting to decide if this feels like the right fit for you.
