About me
I am a qualified Couples and Individual counsellor and psychotherapist. I am an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work online and face to face from my own Practice based in Pirbright Woking..
Working with Couples
Couples come in with various situations and outcomes.I listen from both your perspectives, I encourage you both to look at the relationship and the one you wish to create. I identify patterns and how this is playing out between you. In turn, I try to break these patterns by challenging and encouraging you both to slow things down and recognise what is happening. This takes reflection on both your parts as I encourage you both to find your own voice whilst introducing some new skills to assist you. I use the developmental model and integrate other modalities. Whatever has brought you in to couples counselling, I look to build up friendship and trust between you both, enabling you to open up and understand each other's perspective. This enables you both to look at difficult topics whilst building resilience to stand the tension. This allows you both to have difficult conversations and find a way in which you wish to move forward given your own individual circumstances. I work with but not limited to, divorce, fractures, relationship problems, resentments, childhood trauma, attachment theory, conflict avoidance, high intensity conflicts, coercive control, abuse, desire, postnatal depression, miscarriage, baby loss, loss and grief.
Working with Individuals
I'm here to listen, to understand what has happened and to see you, to witness your story, together we slowly look at the environment, situation or circumstances and gently challenge and encourage you to find your voice, your own autonomy and what's happening for you. This is a journey of discovery. This sets us on a path that enables you to make your own choices, knowing what are the influencing factors, encouraging you to reflect and how you wish to move forward enabling you to honour yourself within any given situation. This is a journey of empowerment and can provide life changing outcomes.
Trauma
As a Gestalt therapist I work with different parts of self. I do this by listening to different parts of you by using Chairwork to Process Traumatic Memories, Working with Difficult Coping Modes and Problematic Behaviors, Grief and Loss, Addressing Experiences of Abuse Using Confrontational Dialogues, and Practicing Chairwork Teletherapy,

In our sessions, I use creative approaches to help young people express and make sense of their emotional world. These sessions can support a range of experiences, such as worries about school, friendships, family changes, or general emotional wellbeing.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
