About me
Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile.
My name is Dawn, and I am Chapter You Counselling. I am an integrative therapist, providing counselling for children and young people both in-person and online. I also work with families offering Family Coaching utilising NVR strategies and adults experiencing challenges within day to day life.
I offer integrative counselling, which means drawing on different therapeutic approaches to create a way of working that suits your unique needs. My work is grounded in a person-centred approach, providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I may also integrate other approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which can be particularly helpful for both children and adults in managing and reframing negative thought patterns, offering tools to navigate life’s challenges, supporting your mental wellbeing.
Seeking counselling for your child/young person can feel like a big and sometimes overwhelming step. Seeking counselling may have come after a period of navigating challenges. It’s completely normal to feel unsure about where to start or what to expect from counselling.
To help you feel comfortable with the process, I offer a free, no-obligation introductory call. This is an opportunity for us to talk about what’s been going on, ask any questions, and get a feel for whether working together might be the right fit. You’ll have the space to share any concerns, and I’ll explain how I work with young people and families. I am really happy for teens to join the call and ask as many questions as they need.
I take a collaborative and flexible approach. Every young person is different, so I adapt my style to meet their individual needs.
Family Coach
As a Family Coach, my role is to help families strengthen their relationships, improve communication, and create a more supportive home environment. Parenting is rewarding, but its not easy. Struggling to understand what's behind your child's challenging behaviour without support can be extremely challenging. Using a Connective Family framework, that is rooted within NVR principals where aggression is present, enables focus on re-establishing connections and building relations.
Through our actions and reactions as adults, we can change family dynamics and support our children to learn and grow.
Whether you’re facing specific issues or simply want to build a stronger family foundation, family coaching can offer valuable guidance and support.
Working with Adults
Providing a compassionate and confidential counselling for adults experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges. Supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, low mood, stress, trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, OCD and the effects of abuse. Offering a safe, non-judgemental space to explore your experiences, build emotional resilience, and develop practical strategies to support your wellbeing. Sessions are available both in person in Oxfordshire and online.
