About me

Hi, I’m Darcie. It looks as though you’re interested in some support? Maybe I can help.

My practice is built around creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. I believe that feeling heard, understood, and accepted can help people explore the challenges they are facing and make positive changes in their lives.

I use a flexible, person-centred approach, which means I tailor counselling to your individual needs. Everyone experiences life differently, so I work at your pace and from your perspective. Sessions are conversational and supportive, helping you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that feels comfortable for you. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to support and guide you with care and understanding.

I work with a wide range of emotional, mental health, and personal challenges. Such as ADHD, Family issues, identity, anxiety and depression. Whatever you may be going through, you will be treated with kindness, respect, and without judgement. My aim is to provide a space where you feel safe to talk openly and honestly.

I have experience working with children, young people, and adults, from age 4 through to later adulthood. This has helped me develop an understanding of the different challenges people can face at different stages of life. I continue to work with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.

My practice is currently based online via Microsoft Teams or Zoom, offering flexibility while still providing a face-to-face connection. Online sessions allow us to work together in a supportive and compassionate environment wherever you feel most comfortable.

So, what does a first session look like?

Our first session, I class as a ‘get to know session’, further to our initial consultation this session will help us to begin our therapeutic relationship and gain a better understanding of each other, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective therapy and helps to create a foundation of which we can build upon. We will discuss the contract and any questions you may have.

In this collaborative relationship, my goal is to empower you to discover your own solutions, develop a stronger sense of self, and move forward in a more balanced and positive direction.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
