About me

Life isn’t always easy and some things can be difficult to talk about, even to our closest friends and family. Perhaps you’re not sure how you feel or struggle to find the words when trying to describe your inner world to another.

Whether you are struggling with how you feel, with what you think, or behaviours you wish to change, talking therapy can help you.

Struggling with emotions, thoughts or behaviours are common experiences for everyone, but understanding and working to overcome them doesn’t always come so easily.

Based in the heart of Guildford Town Centre, I offer face-to-face talking therapy in a warm and non-judgemental environment.

I only work with adults - 18yrs+.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed 5 years of education and training before qualifying to practice. This included;

  • Introduction to Psychology Course
  • Level 2 Introduction to Counselling Skills
  • Level 3 Counselling Skills and Theory
  • BA (Hons) Integrative Relational Counselling

My training had two main points of focus;

Integrative & Relational

Integrative means I use knowledge and techniques that have consistent aims across the different schools of psychotherapeutic thought and are backed by research literature, as opposed to strictly adhering to one theoretical orientation.

Relational means an acknowledgement of, and working with, the relationship that will exist between us as not only client to therapist, but also, human to human. You, your experience, and your relationships will be the primary focus, but we shall be in it together.

CPD (continuing professional development) is a part of my ongoing practice. This means I will continue to keep developing and updating my knowledge and skills as the profession progresses.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
