About me
Hello! My name is Corinna. I'm a qualified counsellor based in Canterbury where I provide face-to-face and online counselling support for adults.
I have a kind and warm-hearted personality. When working with you I take great care to provide a safe, open and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable to explore what is troubling you. My highest priority when working with you is to keep you safe and to go at a pace that is right for you to find healing.
I am an integrative counsellor. I work in a trauma-informed way, using evidence-based techniques to minimize the risk of re-traumatisation.
I have specialist training at diploma level to work with Eating Disorders, obesity, nutrition and disordered eating. I can also offer you support if you are caring for or living with a person struggling with their eating.
Further, I have specialist training at diploma level to work with Trauma using Imagery Rescripting (ImRs), a method proven by clinical studies to be as effective as EMDR in relieving PTSD symptoms from childhood trauma.
I am also qualified and have the skills and knowledge to work with other issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD, CPTSD, loss, general life stress, work-related difficulties, burn-out, family or relationships issues, ADHD, (sexual) identify and low self-esteem. I do not offer couples counselling, but I can explore relationship difficulties with you individually.
Life can at times present us with challenges that can become too big to cope with on our own. In moments like this counselling can be helpful. I can offer you the opportunity to talk to someone who is sufficiently trained and qualified to help you explore your difficulties, find ways to cope and experience change.
I offer a free 20 minute online or telephone consultation so you can talk to me and ask me questions to help you decide if you’d like to work with me. I will also ask you some questions to gain some insights into how to support you. This first conversation will help both of us find out if I am the right therapist for you.
Thank you for taking the time to read this introduction. Please feel free to browse my website to find out more about me and how I work.
I wish you well and maybe we will speak soon!

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I am a very creative person. My counselling room is adjacent to my art studio. Thus, I offer a bespoke approach to counselling by integrating art into my therapeutic work, provided you would like to try this and we both think that this could benefit you.
When I say “art” I don’t mean fancy Picasso-style artwork. We would certainly not plan and compose a piece to hang up on your living room wall.
Sometimes in counselling it is hard to put things into words. Maybe the feeling is too big, too painful, too raw. That’s when putting it down on paper, tracing it out in sand or moulding it into clay can be a first step towards finding relief. Together we can scribble, sketch, smudge, tear to pieces, bin and re-create, whilst slowly finding words to name the un-nameable.
There is an array of different media and material for you to try, ranging from traditional crayons and paints, to charcoal, sand or clay.
