About me
Hello
I’m Connor, a BACP-registered, person-centred therapist offering online and phone counselling.
People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, low, anxious, or noticing that the ways you’ve been getting by just aren’t working in the same way anymore. Or it might be something more specific — such as grief, caring for someone, stress in your relationships or family, expectations around masculinity or faith, or trying to make sense of ADHD or Autism.
My aim is to offer a collaborative, curious and non-judgemental space to talk things through. Together, at your pace, we can explore what feels difficult, what you’ve been carrying on your own, and what might help make things feel more manageable.
I trained on a MA level course in Person-Centred Counselling and have also worked in a bereavement service and a charity supporting carers, helping people through loss and the emotional complexity of looking after others. Before becoming a therapist, I spent five years working in homelessness services, supporting people in situations that often felt overwhelming. These experiences — alongside my own lived experiences of faith, masculinity, loss and neurodivergence — help me understand how complex life can feel.
I offer a free 30-minute call so you can get a sense of me and see whether working together feels right. All sessions take place online or by phone, giving you flexibility and the option to talk from wherever feels most comfortable for you.
How I Work
My approach is person-centred, which means we go at your pace and focus on what feels most important to you. I see therapy as something we figure out together — you bring your experience, and I bring curiosity, training, and a fresh perspective.
As we talk, I might notice patterns, shifts in tone, what’s happening in the moment, topics or feelings we return to, or moments where something doesn’t quite match what’s being said. These can be useful clues to help us understand what’s going on underneath.
I also find it helpful to pay attention to how we relate with each other, as this can sometimes mirror how things feel in other parts of your life.
The aim is to help you understand yourself more fully, so you can find clarity, ease, or change in the areas that feel difficult.
The Sessions
Some people come to therapy for a short time to focus on a particular issue, while others choose to stay longer and explore things in more depth. You are free to choose and change what feels right for you.
I like to check in regularly about how things are going: what feels useful, what might not, and whether we need to adjust how we’re working together.
Sessions take place online or by phone, lasting 60 minutes, with time spent at the beginning and end to settle in and wrap up.
“What’s the first conversation like?”
During the free 30-minute call, we’ll start by talking about therapy—your expectations, any past experiences, and, if so, what you found useful or less helpful in how it was delivered (not the content itself). Then, I’ll share a bit about how I work and how I imagine our therapy might look. The rest of the call will be almost like a “trial” — a chance for you to speak freely while I listen and respond therapeutically, giving you an idea of what it would be like to work together.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Gift a Session (+£25)
If ever you wish to contribute more, you can gift a session for someone on the low-income rate - to make it free for them.
