About me
Hello I’m Clare, I am an experienced counsellor with a range of experiences in different areas including extensive experience working with Anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, relationship issues, addiction, and low self esteem.
I am a warm and compassionate therapist, offering a safe and empathic space for you to bring whatever is bothering you. A non-judgemental environment will allow you to tell your story and feel heard and accepted.
Collaboratively we can explore any unhelpful belief systems which may be holding you back, discover coping strategies and discuss any future goals. My aim is to adjust the pace of work to suit you, always being guided by you, and sensitive to your individual process.
Sometimes counselling is about helping you through a short term crisis or change in your life, and sometimes it is about delving a bit deeper and helping you to understand yourself and how you have been formed by your experiences over time. What we focus on will be down to what you wish to explore - this is your time and space.
Counselling encourages an improved relationship with self and others, increased self-knowledge, and self-esteem.
My own journey in therapy completely transformed my life and I would like to offer the incredible experience of healing, growth and self discovery to anybody, who through their struggles found the courage to reach out for support.
I believe that everyone has the potential to lead a happy and fulfilling life where they hold the ability within themselves to find a way forward.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
