About me

Hello, Im Clare, trauma-informed Counsellor with over a decade of experience working with individuals, groups and organisations. I have a range of experience in different areas including extensive work with Anxiety, depression, childhood trauma and abuse, relationship issues, addiction and addictive behaviours, ADHD and low self esteem.

I am a warm and compassionate therapist, offering a safe and supportive space for you to bring whatever may feel difficult, uncertain or overwhelming. A contained, confidential environment will allow you to speak freely and be heard without judgement.

Collaboratively we can explore any unhelpful belief systems or patterns which no longer work for you, discover coping strategies and I will support you with any changes you wish to make. Together we can work to your agenda and at your pace, finding a way to connect and engage safely and helpfully.

Sometimes counselling is about supporting you through a short term crisis or change in your life, and sometimes it is about delving a bit deeper, helping you to understand yourself better and how you have been formed by your experiences over time. What we focus on will be down to what you wish to explore.

Counselling encourages an improved relationship with self and others and an increased self-awareness and self-esteem.

My own journey in therapy completely transformed my life and I would like to offer the incredible experience of healing, growth and self discovery to anybody, who through their struggles found the courage to reach out for help and support.

I believe that everyone has the potential to lead a happy and fulfilling life where they hold the ability within themselves to find a way forward.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
