About me
Hi- I'm glad you're here.
Life isn't always straight forward. You may be feeling anxious, depressed, navigating family issues, grief or an identity challenge. You may feel in crisis, or simply unable to shake the feeling that something isn't quite right.
Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to face it alone.
In my counselling room, I welcome whatever you bring, and you don't need to come with answers, together we will work out what's going on for you and explore the possibility of change - whatever that may look like for you.
How do I work?
I offer face to face counselling in Chapel Allerton, Leeds and online throughout the country.
I am an integrative relational counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice. I also work within a small collective of counsellors and psychotherapists at Arbour Counselling, Leeds and as a counselling coordinator supporting trainee counsellors in Calderdale.
What does that mean?
Integrative means that I am trained to draw on a number of theoretical approaches that are flexible and tailored to suit your individual needs, rather than a 'one size fits all' approach. An integrative approach allows us to explore both the present and the past, to consider your values and your relationships, to look at your thoughts, feelings and emotions and see how these may interconnect - all in a way that feels meaningful to you.
Relational means that connection is at the heart of our work. Research tells us that the most influential agent of change within counselling is the therapeutic relationship. I aim to meet you where you are, to create a collaborative and trusting connection that feels supportive, safe and grounded to you.
At your own pace, we can gently explore how past experiences may be shaping your present, look at any unresolved issues, and notice patterns that might be getting in the way. This process can bring fresh insight into the challenges you’re facing.
Training, qualifications & experience
My experience spans 20 years supporting adults, children, families in the care system, new parents, unpaid carers and those navigating the SEND system.
With both lived and professional experience of neurodivergence and unpaid caring, my approach is compassionate, inclusive and neuro-affirming.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information
I offer both face to face counselling in Leeds (Chapel Allerton), and online remotely via Zoom/Teams/GoogleMeet/WhatsApp so you can access counselling with me from wherever you are based.
Sessions
If we are working face to face, I will send you directions before our session with everything you need to know.
If we are working online, I will send you a zoom/teams link before our session.
Sessions last for 50 minutes. During our first therapy session, we will talk about:
- What has brought you to therapy.
- Explore some of your hopes for our work together.
- Discuss what you feel is important for me to know about you.
- Go over some practical points like frequency, timings, responsibilities and boundaries.
Our sessions always move at your pace, and there is no pressure for you to explain everything perfectly - just come as you are. I’m passionate about the work I do and truly believe in the positive difference therapy can make to everyday life.
