About me

For most people there are times when life can become emotionally difficult. Sometimes you might feel you have support around you, yet nothing seems to help. Or you might feel isolated and like you have no one with whom you can share your difficulties or distress. Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed, not like our usual self and find it difficult to cope. This might be in part due to sudden events such as bereavement, or breakdown of relationships, or sometimes something from our past impacts how we react to situations in the present.

I offer an empathic, safe and non-judgemental space. Together we can explore what is causing you distress or leading you to feel stuck or lost. My approach is integrative which means I believe that there isn’t one single approach that fits all clients and all situations. Approaches that I draw from include, but aren’t limited to: relational, embodied, psychodynamic (including attachment theory), person centred, existential, body psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

It can feel daunting looking for a therapist. If you have further questions, then please do contact me. Therapy can help you develop a greater and more compassionate understanding of who you are and the choices you make, and help you live your life to the fullest.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at The Minster Centre in London, a leading Psychotherapy and Counselling training institute, graduating with a Diploma in Integrative Counselling (Level 7, BACP Accredited Course).

I am a registered member of the BACP and abide by their Ethical Framework.

As well as in the private sector, I have experience of providing counselling and psychotherapy in higher education settings and for local MIND settings.

I previously had a busy career working at management level in television production.

I practice in  Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire HP4 and Queens Park, London NW6 for in person sessions.  I also work online which some find a more workable option.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
