About me
Hi, I’m Charlotte. I’m an integrative therapist. I work with people of all ages to improve their sense of fulfilment and meaning in life.
Life can often feel tough and overwhelming, but it’s ok to not be ok. Each day can bring new obstacles that demand new adaptability and courage to overcome. And it’s through these difficulties that we grow — finding new strength and hope.
My therapeutic approach is based around working collaboratively to achieve change — whatever that may look like for the individual I’m working with.
Of course, being a therapist usually involves dealing with the past and seeking to bring understanding to things that have happened. This integrative therapeutic counselling approach helps to gain an understanding of the client’s past and present challenges, supporting them in their own discovery and building self-confidence.
As a counsellor, my role is to hold a collaborative space for the client to explore their world and challenges, with the aim of building resilience and working towards a resolution. This requires creating a space where the client can be open and honest without fear of being judged. This vulnerability is met with empathy, understanding and compassion, with each session tailored to best suit the client’s individual needs.
This is why I’m so passionate about offering a flexible approach to therapy; what works brilliantly for one person may not be the best approach for you. We work together to find the best way, whether creative methods might help you to make sense of what you’re experiencing, or whether you’re more comfortable simply talking.
What I offer:
- Face-to-face sessions in my confidential therapeutic space near Whitstable in Kent.
- Online therapy sessions via Zoom
- Walk and Talk therapy sessions along the beautiful Kentish coastal routes near Whitstable & Herne Bay
How it works
Once you’ve sent me a message, we’ll arrange a free 20-minute phone call — this helps me learn a little about you and your reason for contacting me. It also gives you the chance to get a sense of who I am and how I work and to ask any questions so we can agree to working together.
Naturally, the way things work will vary depending on the type of client — for example arranging therapy for a child or teenager will look very different for an adult who self-refers.

Training, qualifications & experience
I have over 20 years of teaching experience, specialising in PE and Sport, as well as a number of other pastoral roles within the education sector.
After a considerable amount of time supporting, nurturing and helping students navigate the challenges of secondary school, I realised this passion was getting stronger, so I trained as a therapist, obtaining my Level 4 in Therapeutic Counselling.
I am a fully qualified Integrative Therapist. I’m a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I also have an enhanced DBS certificate and am fully insured.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
