About me
It's not always easy to ask for support, taking that first step towards counselling can feel uncertain and even a little scary. I offer a warm, friendly, down to earth service which is welcoming and accepting, whatever your background, set of circumstances and reasons to seek out counselling. I provide a safe and confidential space where you can feel comfortable and supported in sharing your thoughts, feelings and experiences, without fear of judgement or criticism.
I have experience supporting adults and young people (11+) through a range of personal challenges and experiences including anxiety, low self-esteem, low mood and depression. I also work with those navigating grief and loss, relationship or identity struggles, times of change, overwhelm, feeling stuck, or exploring difficult past experiences or the impact of childhood. While common threads often emerge, I see each person as unique, with their own story, something I hold with care, curiosity, and deep respect.
I am an integrative counsellor which means I draw on a range of approaches to suit your individual needs, working flexibly and creatively to find a way of working together which feels most helpful to you.
I aim to help you:
- Gently make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
- Gain clarity and deeper understanding of yourself and your needs.
- Work through grief, loss or past experiences that may still feel present or unresolved.
- Gently explore the thoughts and beliefs that may no longer be helping, and look at them from a kinder, more balanced perspective.
- Strengthen relationships with others and yourself.
- Build confidence, develop self-compassion, self-acceptance and resilience.
- Develop tools and techniques to help manage anxiety, low mood or stress where appropriate.
- Support gentle change, growth and healing at a pace that feels right for you.
- Find new ways forward, building trust and confidence in your own choices.
I offer in person/face to face counselling at my Stafford based practice, or remotely via video link or by telephone.
Sessions are 60 minutes long and can be short or long term depending on your needs.
I am happy to answer any questions you may have about counselling, please feel free to contact me for an informal chat without obligation so we can talk about the support you feel you need and how I can help.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
