About me
Hello! and welcome to my page. 😊
I am a person-centred counsellor based in Chichester, West Sussex. I have been practising for 4 years, with experience working as a volunteer counsellor for the You Trust, where I worked with clients who have experienced domestic abuse and sexual abuse.
I specialise in neurodiversity and abuse, with lived experience and ongoing reading and training in these areas which informs my practice.
Whether it is something specific, or it's more general support you're wanting, therapy offers you a space to explore what is troubling you in a safe and nurturing environment. As a person-centred counsellor, I do not direct you on where to go. Instead, I walk alongside you, helping you notice the things that may have otherwise been missed.
Very often, we can shut down curiosity with judgement and fear - many of us have experienced rigid expectations and judgements in life which become internalised. This can make us feel like we have to hide parts of ourselves to feel accepted. It can teach us that our feelings are inconvenient. It can make us feel shame.
I aim to offer a space to develop that connection again, where you can form a deeper understanding of who you are, what you feel, and what you need so you can begin walking a path that feels more empowering and authentic.
The person-centred approach
As a person-centred counsellor, I am non-directive, believing everybody has the ability to grow if given the right circumstances for growth to occur. Growth looks different for everybody - it is a personal process of being and becoming who we truly are, underneath all the conditioning. Life can feel full of conditions, full of 'shoulds'. This is why my focus is on creating a space that takes those pressures off, allowing you to explore what feels important while feeling genuinely accepted and supported.
Sessions
The duration of therapy can be as short or as long as you need. Each session lasts for 50 minutes and is generally done on a weekly basis to encourage ongoing reflection. Therapy is a collaborative process in which we both work together to get you where you to would like to be. Occasionally we will take time to reflect on the journey and where things are going to help us keep going in a direction that feels beneficial to you and to deepen awareness of the process.
I'm available Wednesday - friday 10am until 2pm. I also offer remote sessions at 7pm Monday - Thursday.
Next steps
If you would like to find out more, please feel free to get in touch using the link. I offer a free 20-minute initial call. This is an opportunity to get to know each other and for you to give an outline on what it is that's bringing you to therapy.
If it is decided we will work together, our first session will involve completing a short assessment form together, where I'll ask you a few questions to get to know a bit more about your background and anything that may be relevant to know for our sessions. This only takes a few minutes, and there's no paperwork for you to fill in yourself. Once the assessment is done, it's over to you. You can use the space to explore what feels important at your own pace.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
