About me

I offer:

  • Short and long-term counselling online in a confidential setting, providing a respectful and professional space to share any difficulties you may be experiencing.
  • A warm, confidential, and non-judgmental environment to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences. As a psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist, I work in-depth to develop an understanding of your inner world and experiences to help to make better sense of your situation.
  • Experience and knowledge of helping individuals with a wide range of difficulties, from feelings of low self-esteem, depression and anxiety, to bereavement, family and relationship issues or work-related stress.
  • A counselling experience tailored to your needs, whether that be through short-term counselling (more targeted therapy focused on a particular issue), or longer-term therapy (spending more time working through areas of your life which may require a more open-ended timeframe). Each individual comes with unique experiences, so I believe it is important to allow time to identify the best approach for working together. The initial session can be used to explore how we may work together going forward.

The first step is to email and set up an initial consultation, during which we could discuss what you are looking for, your background and the way we would work together. The session is private and confidential. Taking the first step can feel daunting and anxiety provoking, but it is my personal and professional experience that it is a risk worth taking as counselling brings about lasting positive change.

Perhaps you are feeling anxious, depressed or unfulfilled. Perhaps you experience low self-esteem or have a more specific challenge in your life that you would like to explore in a safe space with someone impartial yet trustworthy. Perhaps you feel you cannot discuss your worries with those close to you and would rather bring them to counselling. I believe that by working with the right counsellor, you can gain insight and feel more stable and capable of making and sustaining positive change in your life.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
