About me
Hello! I'm Carolyn, and it's a pleasure to connect with you.
You might be struggling with life and its expectations, or looking for a new way of being - you!
Life throws a lot at us, and we are expected to somehow know how to navigate it and still feel ok. You are ok, but you might not feel it right now. I will work with you wherever you are, and together we will build a contract of where you want to be. I believe that everyone is capable of changing the story of their life.
My path to becoming a counsellor started with my own life-changing therapy experience, sparking a curiosity and passion that led me to become a certified counsellor. Prior to this, I spent over twenty years in the corporate sector with a multinational firm, gaining deep insights into the stressors and challenges that come with such settings. Having lived and worked globally across the USA, Colombia and the UK, I've gained a rich perspective on various cultures.
I work face to face from my counselling room in Perthshire and also offer virtual sessions via Zoom.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have four years of training at postgraduate level in counselling. I have deep interest and understanding of working with:

Workplace issues (bullying, redundancy, retirement)
The fertility journey. (IVF, infertility, loss)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling using Transactional Analysis - Physis Scotland
- Masters in Business Administration - Nova Southeastern University
- BA (Hons) in Sociology & Social Policy - University of Stirling
- I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (member number 01024689) and adhere to their code of ethics.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
