About me
Hi, my name's Carolyn. If you're reading this, I'm guessing you've already scrolled through a load of profiles wondering how on earth you chose the right counsellor for you. Overwhelming isn’t it?
You already know what's troubling you and what brings you here, be that anxiety, depression, family or relationship issues, feelings of aloneness, sadness, grief or loss, past or present trauma or simply the feeling that something is "off" and you're not as happy as you could or should be.
You already know you could do with some support, and now you’re searching for a counsellor who meets your values, understands you for who you are and what you’re going through and to whom you can feel connected enough to begin the healing process, Right?
I hear you.
You’ve already done the hardest part - recognising you need someone to talk to. You’ve clicked through a few people to find your match… That’s where I might come in.
A lifetime of diverse personal and professional experiences plus training to degree level and beyond means I can offer you a safe, non-judgmental space in which you can truly be heard, understood and accepted, alongside the expertise to help you heal. I believe in working with the whole person both past, present and future to help identify and meet your emotional needs through empathy, care and compassion for everything that has brought you to this point.
I am trained and work integratively which simply means that during our sessions together, we can draw upon a number of therapeutic techniques and theories to tailor an approach that is unique to you and your needs. There is no 'one size fits all' in therapy. I recognise each person as an individual and aim to be fluid and responsive to that by combining therapeutic techniques to appreciate that we all respond and process differently.
You don't have to suffer in silence, your voice matters. Whether you're feeling alone, anxious or a little off balance, it only takes a phone call to find the support you need and deserve.
I appreciate the pressure and stress that comes with seeking help, so I aim to make it as easy as possible by offering a free 15 minute consultation for us to get to know one another, briefly talk about what is troubling you and what you're looking for in a therapist and to decide if we are the right match for each other.
If you have any questions, drop me a message or email and let’s arrange an informal chat.
If you are waiting for a response via email, please check your junk folders as messages often end up there.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
