About me
Hello, and thanks for looking at my profile, I am an experienced counsellor, who has been working continually since 2011. I hold a Level 7 qualification in Humanistic Counselling. I have worked with clients age 13 to the age of 92 having experience across the age spectrum.
I offer short and long term/open ended counselling, in person and online.
I have had a very diverse range of life experiences which has given me among other things, a very non judgemental, empathic and open attitude. You can expect to be listened to, accepted, and at times challenged in our sessions together.
How Humanistic Counselling Can Help
There can be times in our lives where we experience difficulties, that can feel overwhelming. We can feel alone, lost, anxious, sad and angry. At these times it can be helpful to speak to an impartial, understanding professional, who is not a friend or a family member.
Humanistic counselling can help you by focusing on your personal growth, self-awareness, and capacity for self-healing. It's based on the belief that you have the potential to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life, that you are the expert on yourself and that the answers are within you.
It can help you understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours more clearly. You become more aware of who you are and what you truly want from life. By being accepted and not judged in the counselling space, you can build a more positive self-image. It encourages you to explore your potential, make your own choices, and take responsibility for your life, leading to greater fulfillment and autonomy.
It can help you to face difficult emotions without suppressing them, which can make you more emotionally balanced and resilient, reducing symptoms of anxiety, low mood, anger and sadness. A humanistic counsellor helps you trust your inner wisdom and make decisions that align with your values. If you're feeling stuck, misunderstood, or searching for meaning, humanistic counselling can offer a supportive, respectful environment for personal transformation.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
