About me
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, leaving us feeling anxious, stuck, misunderstood or unsure of which way to turn. You may be dealing with a difficult experience, struggling with changes in your life, or simply feeling that things are no longer quite right.
About Me:
I’m Beth, a caring and compassionate counsellor who believes everyone deserves to feel heard, understood and valued. I offer a warm, safe and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what’s happening in your life, without fear of criticism or pressure to have all the answers.
My approach is a combination of humanistic and integrative, which means I recognise that you are unique, with your own experiences, feelings, values and needs. I tailor our work to suit you, working collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for you. You don’t need to know exactly what to say or where to begin – we can work that out together.
I offer face-to-face, online, telephone and email counselling, providing flexible ways to access support depending on your needs and circumstances. Online, telephone and email counselling also mean you can access support from further afield, including from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
How counselling can help:
Sometimes, talking to someone who will genuinely listen can make a real difference. Counselling offers you the opportunity to pause, make sense of what you’re experiencing and explore things that may feel difficult to share with others.
Together, we can explore the challenges you’re facing, recognise patterns that may be holding you back and develop a greater understanding of yourself. Counselling may help you manage anxiety and stress, navigate difficult life changes, build confidence, strengthen relationships and develop a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself.
You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to seek support. Whether you’re facing a specific difficulty or have a general feeling that something needs to change, counselling can help you explore new perspectives and find a way forward that feels right for you.
My aim isn’t to tell you what to do, but to work alongside you as you recognise your strengths, overcome barriers and feel more confident in making choices that reflect who you are and what matters to you.
What to expect from sessions:
I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling in a safe, confidential, nurturing and non-judgemental environment.
You can choose from face-to-face sessions, online counselling or email counselling, depending on what feels most comfortable and accessible for you.
Whether we meet in person, connect online or communicate through email, the focus remains on you and what you need from counselling. There is no expectation to put on a brave face, find the perfect words or have everything figured out before you begin.
Our work together provides space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace. We can work towards understanding what’s troubling you, recognising what might be getting in the way and exploring what could help you move towards the changes you want to make.
Online counselling allows you to access support from wherever you are in the UK, without the need to travel. Email counselling may suit you if you prefer to express yourself in writing, find it difficult to talk about your feelings face-to-face, or value having time to reflect on what you want to share.
Whichever option you choose, I will work with you in a way that respects your individual needs, values and personal circumstances.
Feedback:
One of the most rewarding parts of being a counsellor is witnessing the changes that can happen when someone feels genuinely heard and understood.
I’ve had the privilege of supporting clients who initially felt overwhelmed, uncertain or negative about their circumstances, and seeing them gradually develop hope, recognise their strengths and feel more able to take control of their lives.
Every person’s journey is different, and there is no set timescale for change. Sometimes progress begins with a small shift in perspective; sometimes it’s finding the confidence to make a difficult decision, setting a boundary or simply learning to be kinder to yourself.
Seeing clients develop greater self-awareness, regain a sense of independence and begin to recognise possibilities for their future is incredibly rewarding.
Whatever brings you to counselling, you don’t have to work through it all alone. If you’re ready to take that first step, I’d welcome the opportunity to work alongside you. We can begin wherever you are right now and explore, together, what a better way forward might look like for you.
